PlayStation Plus available now!

Amongst other changes in Sony’s new firmware (v.3.4) update for the PlayStation 3, their new premium subscription based service, known as PlayStation Plus, is now available.

This new service, which cost’s roughly the same price as an Xbox live gold subscription will provide subscribers with a more enhanced PlayStation experience, with Sony giving subscribers earlier access to demo’s and beta’s, and also giving free full-game downloads to users, with the first one being LittleBigPlanet. Those that don’t subscribe will still have access to the PlayStation store and still be able to play online game at no extra charge.

Other features included in the firmware update is the new photo gallery, which allows you to share photo’s with your friends and upload them to Facebook (Facebook integration has also been improved). Video editing and uploading is also included, along with the ability to rate PlayStation store content.
